Days 34 & 35 - Caves & Presidents

Hot Springs and Rapid City
Over the last 2 days, we have gone to two caves and Mount Rushmore. Plus, Bryan and Melissa hosted a geocaching event.

Wind Cave National Park
This is the box to crawl through to see how the Wild Cave Tour would be. We didn't do the Wild Cave Tour, but the kids had fun crawling through.

That hole is the natural opening for Wind Cave. Of course, there is now another way in.

This is a rare cave formation.

Jewel Cave Tour
I know the pictures aren't great, but we did the Historic Lantern Cave Tour. In my mind, I was thinking,"this is like a normal cave tour but we carry lanterns". I was wrong. It was not quite a Wild Cave Tour, but it was pretty intense. Very narrow passages and steep staircases. Even Hannah had to duck a time or two. But the kids had a blast.

Needles Highway and Pigtails
These were both great rides today which have wonderful views of Mount Rushmore and some spires.

Mount Rushmore
It was too smokey to see it, but that's Mount Rushmore through the tunnel. I added my other pictures to my South Dakota album.

So far, we have been to 17 National Parks, 9 additional historic sites, 1 presidential library and been through 18 states.
