Day 37 - Last Day in South Dakota

Rapid City, South Dakota to Sioux Falls, South Dakota
I opted to pack up this morning instead of last night, which meant we got a late start (after lunch) AND we lost an hour by swapping to Central time. So we really didn't do much. The above picture is from Badlands National Park.

We finally saw a bighorn sheep out in the wild. He is the only one we've seen the whole trip.

I think it's safe to say we have all fallen in love with prairie dogs! I wasn't going to take any more pics, but they were too cute.
Apparently, there are quite a few fossils around Badlands National Park and they have an on-site lab that's available to talk to paleoanthropologists. Even baby Yoda was hanging out here :)

Minuteman Missile
This was on the plans for today. However, they are closed on Tuesdays, so we didn't get to go :(

Other Sights from Today
Because why not?

Dignity statue. There's a virtual cache here!
When you pull in and see this, it gives you the same kind of feeling as seeing Jim Cantore showing up. But the weather was fine... A little rainy. On another note, I have really missed the rain. The rest of today's pictures were added to my South Dakota album.

So far, we have driven 8,700 miles and have been through 18 states. We have also visited 18 National Parks, 9 additional historic sites, and 1 presidential library. Also, my "new" car rolled over 10,000 miles today.
