Theodore Roosevelt National Park is in pieces (called units). We intended to visit the north unit and south unit, but the kids needed to sleep in so we only did the south unit. The picture above was taken at Theodore Roosevelt National Park.
Theodore Roosevelt National Park
Isaiah said he loves small mammals, so he sat watching the prairie dogs for awhile.
The prairie dogs were definitely the stars of the show today. There were several prairie dog towns to see and we all agreed they are adorable. I've got videos of them in my North Dakota album.
Other Sights Today
The city where Theodore Roosevelt National Park is has a musical every year. It's done up like the Hollywood sign. Fitting since we went to see the Hollywood sign on this trip.
This shop claims to be the official home of the Teddy Bear (I guess since it's just outside Theodore Roosevelt National Park). For the record, we didn't get a bear.
I used to think South Georgia had rural areas... I was wrong. You will drive through parts of the west for hours and see nothing more than cows, pronghorn, and apiaries. My other pictures from today are in my North Dakota album.
The kids are settled in. We are in Rapid City, South Dakota staying with geocaching friends for the next several days for a rest period. Though we will be doing some sight seeing while here as well, so I will still do daily posts.
So far, we have driven 7,800 miles on this trip. We have been to 16 National Parks, 7 additional historic sites, 1 presidential library and been through 18 states.
