Day 27 - Bye Bye Utah... Hello Idaho!

Salt Lake City, Utah to Twin Falls, Idaho
We are finally out of the desert... Kind of! This part of Idaho used to be desert, but thanks to the rerouting of the river, it's now lush farm land. The above picture is from the Golden Spike National Monument.

We watched a reenactment of the ceremony when the East railroad met the West railroad. Other Golden Spike pictures were added to the Utah - Random album.

We learned so much here about the Japanese Internment Camps during World War II.

Hannah has really gotten into the Junior Ranger programs at the different parks and historic sites. Occasionally, Isaiah will do it as well. Here they are taking the Junior Ranger pledge. My other Minidoka pictures are in my Idaho album

Other sights today
This was a rocket display on the side of the road we happened to pass, so we stopped to check it out.
When we got to Twin Falls, we stopped by the visitor center and some guys were getting ready to base jump off the bridge.. So we hung around to watch for a bit.

So far, we have driven 6,500 miles on this trip. We have been to 13 National Parks, 5 additional historic sites, 1 presidential library and been through 14 states.
