I combined these two days since we didn't do much the first day. On the second day, we went to Zion and a couple places around Kanab. The picture above is from Belly of the Dragon.
Relaxing at the Pool
Zion is a beautiful park, but it was so crowded (thanks holiday weekend). The line for the shuttle (which you have to ride to get to most of the park) was insane. So we just went to what we could without riding the shuttle. If we make it back another time, we will not go on a holiday weekend.
Our plan was to hike part of The Narrows, but with the shuttle situation and then the fact that I wasn't positive the water level was low enough for the kids to do even part of the hike, we decided to skip it. Instead, we just found a spot by a hiking trail that had water access and the kids played there for a bit. The rest of my Zion pics are in my Zion & Bryce Canyon album.
Thanks to geocaching, we found this roadside hike that has a tunnel. It's man-made (probably for drainage under the road) but still a cool hike. My other Belly of the Dragon pics were added to my Utah - Random album.
After Belly of the Dragon, we grabbed dinner and then headed back to the condo to chill at the pool.
We have now visited 9 National Parks, 3 additional National Sites, 1 Presidential library, and been to 13 states.
