Days 12 & 13 - Sedona

We spent yesterday doing laundry and relaxing. We tried to go to Slide Rock, but it was full so we couldn't get in. The picture above was taken from Aunt Elon's back deck.

Sedona Scenery
This is a Catholic Church that was built into the mountain.
Aunt Elon drove us around the Sedona area today to see some of the views.

Here it's not the golden arches, it's the teal arches. Every time I try take a picture of the kids, it's the same thing. Hannah puts her an around Isaiah. He pushes her arm off. I tell him to let her put his arm around him. Then he's grumpy. She was trying to get him to smile in this picture.

Geocaching Event in Sedona
We hosted a Geocaching event this morning and had a pretty good turnout! I only wish we had time to find some of the suggested caches.

Cece & Onyx
The kids have enjoyed playing with Aunt Elon's dogs.

Aunt Elon's House
She's doing renovations, but the back porch at Aunt Elon's has a wonderful view. It's so dry here that I feel like I can't drink enough. At night, it feels great and in the shade during the day there's a cool breeze, but in the sun it is hot. I'm not looking forward to Death Valley next week.

Lowell Observatory (Flagstaff)
This is the astrograph (telescope that takes photographer on plates instead of having an eyepiece to look through) that was used when they discovered Pluto. Pluto was officially discovered right here! So cool!
We met an astronomer. This guy was in the room, and got to vote, when they decided to demote Pluto by taking away its planetary status. He voted against it!

We got to see the moon, Venus, Vega, and a couple other stars through the REAL telescopes! I couldn't take any pics once it got dark, but I will say that this was one of my favorite stops this trip! The skies were so clear. It would have only been better if it was a new moon. And I may or may not have bought π earrings ;)

To see all the pics from the last two days, check out my Sedona & Flagstaff album.
