Day 2 - Missouri

St. Louis, Missouri to Topeka, Kansas
We started the morning by going up in The Gateway Arch! The pic above is from inside the pod looking out into the loading/unloading stairwell. It was an interesting ride up. I was nervous because I get a little claustrophobic, and Isaiah kept saying he wasn't going because he doesn't "trust elevators", but it wasn't bad. It was a fun morning, and I recommend doing it once for the experience, but once is probably enough. The view is nice, but it's the ride up (and back down) that's the interesting part. Think elevator meets ferris wheel. If you want to see more pics, check out my album for Kentucky Illinois, and Missouri

There are 8 pods that all load at once. Be sure to get reservations ahead of time if you plan to go.

It's tight fit in the pod for the ride up and back down.
Shadow of the arch from the top.

At the top of the arch. It's crazy walking around because of the curve.

The Park with the geyser (see yesterday's post) from the top of the arch.

St. Louis Cardinals stadium from the top of the arch. We made a mistake and did NOT check the game schedule, so we got caught in game traffic last night on the way to dinner.

Other Random Pics From Today
David packed this neck pillow at the last minute and Isaiah LOVES it.

Kansas City Royals and Kansas City Chiefs stadiums are next to each other. And yes... there is a game tonight. Thankfully, we were early enough that there wasn't game traffic yet.

We found the oldest geocache in Missouri before heading into Kansas. It was a quick and easy find. We ran into some cachers from Indiana while there.

We speed this semi in Missouri. Truer words have never been spoken!

One another note, we almost didn't find a hotel room tonight... Yikes! It's one of the few nights I didn't book ahead of time. Thankfully, someone cancelled and a room came available at the last minute.

By the way, we have driven 1270 miles so far!
